Tucked between the city and the sea, Al Bateen is one of Abu Dhabi’s most popular waterfront neighbourhoods. The area is deeply connected to the ocean, with half a dozen marinas giving visitors easy access to the water. Two of these marinas, Marsa Al Bateen and the InterContinental Abu Dhabi Marina, are lively hubs for morning walks, midday meals and pre-dinner drinks – all with sweeping views of sleek yachts, fishing boats and even fully-kitted-out houseboats bobbing just offshore.

Al Bateen is centrally located on Abu Dhabi’s western edge, making it easily accessible by road. The area sits just off the Corniche and is well-connected to downtown, the Corniche waterfront and neighbouring districts via Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street (E20) and Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street. Travelling by car, taxi or ride-hailing app is easy, with clear signage and ample parking available throughout the area.

Visitors can also reach Al Bateen using the (free!) Experience Abu Dhabi Shuttle Bus. Route B1 loops through the city centre and stops at locations like the Grand Hyatt Hotel, placing travellers within walking distance of Al Bateen’s main attractions.
